Boyd Family Portrait
The family matriarch, Francis (Studdard) Boyd, is in the center, seated with a baby on her lap. Her husband Thomas J. Boyd having recently died. The woman in front of the tree holding the baby and the man to her left is Fanny (Hudgens) & Albert Boyd with their son Carl. It was thought that Othella was on Francis' lap, but the timing isn't right because Carl, son of Albert, is a year older than Othella and these 2 babies appear to be close in age. We believe the 2 women on the bottom right is Dovie and Pearl Boyd, and the 2 older women on the top left are Nancy and Lillian (white blouse), all daughter's of Francis and Thomas. Jessie C., being the youngest of the Francis & Thomas' children may be the young man standing behind Francis. Anybody have any stories about the horse and why it got an honored spot in the family portrait?
