George P. Boyd Sr. - Obituary, Northwest Herald, Thursday, January 5, 2006 Born: Jan 10, 1948; in Chicago. Died: Dec 26, 2005; in St. Petersburg, Fla. He was a longtime business executive in Crystal Lake PALM HARBOR, Fla - George P. Boyd Sr., 57, of Palm Harbor, Fla., and formerly of Crystal Lake, died Monday, Dec. 26, 2005, at Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg, Fla., due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident that occurred Dec. 24. He was born Jan 10, 1948, in Chicago, to Carl F. and Martha (Welsh) Boyd Sr. A longtime business executive in Crystal Lake, he had been a member of the Rotary and Lions Club in Crystal Lake and belonged to the Eagles Club in Florida. He was a generous and caring person who will be missed by his family and friends. Survivors include three children, George (Jennifer) Boyd Jr. of Woodstock, Brandi Boyd of Schaumburg and Tim Boyd of Crystal Lake; two grandchildren, Camryn Boyd and Peyton Madison; a brother, Carl F. (Sherry) Boyd Jr. of West Chicago; a sister, Monique (Leon) Peeters of Naperville; and a nephew, David (Heidi) Peeters of Lisle. He was preceded in death by his parents. The visitation will be from 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, until the memorial service at 3 p.m. at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. Interment is private for the family.
Lillian Boyd (Martin) - Obituary, Wednesday, September 27, 1967 ~ Mrs. Lillie Boyd Martin, 89, of 624 Inglewood Drive, died Tuesday at 5:35 p.m. at Stringfellow Hospital after a long illness. Services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Saks with the Revs. Y.F. Miller and Henry Harris officiating. Burial will be at Edgemont Cemetery. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Dolly Thompson of Huntsville and Mrs. Alice Frances Burford of Anniston; five sons, Luther, Tom, B.C., Jessie and A.H. Martin, all of Anniston; one sister, Mrs. Pearl Waddell of Anniston; 31 grandchildren; 65 great-grand-children, and five great-great-grandchildren. Active pallbearers will be her grandsons. Mrs.. Martin was a native of Valdosta, Ga., and had lived in Calhoun County since 1900. She was a member of the First Baptist church of Saks. Her body will lie at the Gray Brown-Service Mortuary until an hour before services.
Jessie C. Boyd - Obituary, Monday, September 10, 1945 ~ Jess C. Boyd dies at hospital. Jess C. Boyd, 50, engaged in the paint contracting business for many years, died yesterday at 3:40 a.m. in Anniston Memorial Hospital. he resided at 115 East E Street. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 at the Church of Christ on E Street and Quintard by Rev. Franklin Camp. Burial will be at Edgemont Cemetery. Mr. Boyd is survived by his wife, Mrs. J.C. Boyd of Anniston, five daughters, Mrs. M.W. Ledbetter, Mrs. Ed Hise of Anniston and Missess Lucille, Betty and Bernice Boyd of Anniston. Three sons, Charles Boyd of U.S. Navy, New London Conn. and Joe and Billy Boyd of Anniston. Two brothers John and W.G. Boyd of Anniston and four sisters, Nan Christopher, Lillie Martin, Ida West and Pearl Waddell of Anniston. Pallbearers will be George Barnes, Vaughan Higgins, Horace Ursery, Charley Royster, Harry Jones and Dock Kennedy. Honorary pallbearers will be Judge S.E. Boozer, D.L. Boozer, W.L. Borders, Dr. Jere Watson, Dr. John Durdin, Clyde Brittain and Joe Cockrell. Mr. Boyd was a member of painters Local 151.
Pearl M. Boyd (Gaines/Waddell) - Obituary ~ Services for Mrs. pearl B. Waddell, 85, of 1408 Johnston Drive, Anniston, were today at Gray Brown-Service Chapel with the Rev. Harvey Brown and the Rev. Gordon Chandler officiating. Burial was in Edgemont Cemetery. Mrs. Waddell died Saturday at Regional Medical Center. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Minnie Lee Dear, Mrs. Helen Walls and Mrs. Lola Johnson, all of Anniston; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Lottie Reaves of Jacksonville; a son, Howard Gaines of Anniston; 20 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Glen Hurd, Joel Carter, Wendell Waddell, James Hicks, Charles Borden and Bill Trammell. Mrs. Waddell was a native and lifelong resident of Calhoun County and a member of Blue Mountain Baptist Church.
Ruth Boyd (Wells) - Obituary ~ Services for Mrs. Ruth Boyd Wells, 73, of Anniston were today at Northside Baptist Church with the Rev. Gordon Chandler and the Rev. Dewey Corder officiating. Burial was in Forestlawn Gardens with Gray Brown - Service Mortuary in charge. Mrs. Wells died Tuesday at Regional Medical Center. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. John Timmons Sr. of Centre and Mrs. C. Ray Till of Anniston; a son, Dr. Harold W. Wells of Attaila; and two sisters, Mrs. Robert Noell of Anniston and Mrs. Curtis German of Talladega; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mrs. Wells was a native and lifelong resident of Calhoun County. She was an active member of Northside Baptist Church for 40 years and an employee of Berman's Department Store.
